Receding Gums? Reduce Tooth Sensitivity with Composite Fillings

Composite Fillings for Receding Gums in Silverado AB Area

Receding gums is a common dental issue many people face at some point in their lives. It can be caused by many factors, such as brushing too hard, teeth grinding, or gum disease. In some

cases, this problem can be hereditary. Receding gums can leave the roots of your teeth exposed, causing tooth sensitivity. Gum recession can also cause gaps between your teeth, detracting from your smile’s appearance. At Lake Chaparral Dental Care, we provide treatment that can efficiently resolve these problems with composite fillings.

Receding Gums Risks

Mild cases of gum recession may not require any treatment. With improved oral hygiene, your gums can often heal. When gum recession exposes your tooth roots, it puts you at risk of decay, oral infections, or loose teeth. Advanced gum recession caused by periodontal disease can cause you to lose natural teeth.

By treating this problem early on, you can avoid these dental issues. Composite non-toxic fillings offer a practical, non-invasive gum recession treatment. Dr. Palka Sawhney Sharma can use these fillings to cover exposed tooth roots to reduce sensitivity when you consume hot or cold foods or drinks. The same fillings can fill gaps between your teeth when gums recede, making your smile more esthetically pleasing.

Restorative Properties of Composite Fillings

Composite resin is a versatile material that can be used for numerous dental treatments, including:

  • Repairing chips or cracks in teeth
  • Filling cavities
  • Closing gaps between teeth
  • Correcting problems caused by receding gums
