Achieve Optimal Tooth Alignment with Invisalign Overcorrection Trays

Invisalign Overcorrection Trays in Calgary AB Area

Do you want a straighter smile? Many teens and adults deal with embarrassment from crooked teeth. While braces have always been the “go-to” answer, there is another option. Invisalign straightening uses a series of clear plastic aligners to guide teeth into the optimal alignment, leaving you with a straighter smile. It has become the preferred choice for many teens and adults who wish to correct their smiles without wearing brackets and wires. At Lake Chaparral Dental Care in Calgary, Alberta, we offer Invisalign clear aligner therapy as a top-tier solution for orthodontic care. In the following article, we’ll discuss how it works, what overcorrection means, and the benefits of choosing Invisalign.

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign is a proven method for straightening teeth that uses clear plastic aligners. It has become extremely popular because the transparent trays are virtually invisible in the smile. Each patient is given a set of aligners fabricated from 3D scans of the mouth. The aligners are designed to be worn most of the day and should only be taken out to eat or brush and floss the teeth. Every two weeks, you swap the trays out for the next step and watch as your teeth gradually shift into place for a straighter smile.

Benefits of Invisalign

There are many pros to choosing Invisalign clear aligner therapy:

  • Convenience – Invisalign therapy does not require as many dental visits for adjustments, saving you time.
  • Comfort – The aligners are made from soft plastic, making them physically more comfortable than brackets and wires.
  • Discreet – The clear trays are almost impossible to see, making them more attractive than metal brackets and wires. Invisalign is an excellent option for adults who wish to straighten their teeth discreetly.
  • Removable – You can easily take the trays out to enjoy your favourite foods and practice good oral hygiene. When compared to metal brackets where food can get stuck, Invisalign treatment lowers your risk of developing tooth decay.

What is overcorrection?

Overcorrection can be an essential part of your orthodontic treatment. During your consultation, the dentist may determine that certain teeth within either arch are “more apt” to become misaligned again soon after treatment ends. To address this, overcorrection aligners are made to adjust for these teeth and move them into a slightly past proper alignment.

Not everyone will need overcorrection aligners, although they’ve become an important part of many treatment plans. Often, we will recommend the overcorrection aligners as the last set of trays to keep the smile straight and prevent dental relapse.
