Calgary, AB practice provides emergency dentistry

Whether you or your child are hurting, unexpected dental issues can be both uncomfortable and emotionally stressful. Dr. Palka Sawhney Sharma and her team at Lake Chaparral Dental Care in Calgary, AB understand. Their emergency dentistry philosophy includes calming advice on the telephone, a compassionate touch during treatment, and a full range of services to help you smile again.

What warrants an emergency dentist appointment?

Dental issues can generally be placed into three categories:

  • Emergencies – When a tooth is knocked out or severely loosened, seeing a dentist right away dramatically increases the chance of saving it.  Place the tooth into the socket if possible, or between the cheek and gum or in a cup of milk while you get to the dentist’s office.

An abscessed tooth can also be an emergency. A hidden area of decay or latent damage may suddenly present as acute pain and facial swelling. Root canal therapy or emergency tooth extraction gets you out of discomfort fast. Don’t worry – if teeth must come out, Dr. Palka Sawhney Sharma restores smiles with dental implants and bridges.

We allow time in our regular office hours to see emergency cases. If the work cannot be completed that day, we see that you are comfortable and out of danger until the follow-up appointment.
